Community Trust II

Funded with Excess Income

This trust works best for people who have surplus monthly income for Medicaid purposes. The Community Trust II allows people to protect excess monthly income – which Medicaid would require to be “spent down on medical needs” –by placing it in the trust.

You maintain your benefit-eligibility and the funds may be used for certain living expenses and other supplemental needs.

Upon the beneficiary’s death, the remaining balance of the account will be paid to the Community Trust II Remainder sub-trust account, which helps other individuals with disabilities.
