Guardianship Services
Most families that have a loved one with intellectual or developmental disabilities provide their own guardianship services. But over time, guardians age, needs become more difficult to meet and the capability of acting as guardian can grow more difficult.
NYSARC can step in to provide those services, and to make sure your loved one always has someone authorized to make critical decisions in their best interest.
It’s a lifelong commitment, and if you can no longer provide it – for whatever reason – we can.
NYSARC established its Guardianship Program in 1970 to assure families that future decisions regarding their relatives with developmental disabilities would always be made in their best interest, particularly in securing good health care, appropriate housing and appropriate day and recreational services.
