Cheryl Englert Receives The Barbara Bryson Award

The Advocacy Center in Rochester, New York recently announced that Cheryl Englert of the NYSARC, Inc. Livingston-Wyoming Counties Chapter was selected as the recipient of the Barbara Bryson Award.  At their June 5, 2009 Community Awards Ceremony, the award was presented to Cheryl for her pioneering efforts on behalf of individuals with disabilities and their families.  She has spent much of her adult life advocating for and working with individuals with disabilities.  She is the parent of two adult sons, one of whom has a developmental disability, but her involvement extends well beyond her own family.  Cheryl's chosen career as a special education teacher allows her to guide and support students with disabilities every day.  Cheryl serves on many boards and committees, both locally and on a statewide level.
