FLAME GREECE TRIP A SUCCESS
Flame returned to New York on Friday, December 5 after a five-day trip to Athens, Greece to perform for the Greek Ministry of Education. Flame was hired by the government to perform at a disability conference for government officials and 400 students from various schools in Athens. Flame was so well received that the hiring agent and others in attendance are looking at ways to have Flame return to perform. The students danced and sang along to popular American rock and roll songs during a one-hour performance by Flame.
In addition to the performance Flame went on sightseeing tours of Athens and spent time exploring life in the Greek capital. The band was interviewed by Greek National Television and were also a feature story in many Greek newspapers. Many people talked to the band about the lack of rights of people with disabilities in Greece and the poor conditions in their government run institutions. The Ministry of Education paid for Flame to come to help change public perceptions of people with disabilities and to display the great talent.
Flame, the rock band from Lexington Center, has just released its third CD, which was recorded live at the Glove Theatre. For more information about their CDs or to book Flame contact Tim Fiori at Lexington Center (518)-736-3931 or visit their website www.flametheband.com
