NYSARC, Inc. Self-Advocate of the Year

Presented to a self-advocate who has demonstrated leadership, personal growth and has positively influenced the lives of others. Recipients are people who not only use or have used our services, but help to shape those services in a manner that benefits others.

NYSARC, Inc. Memorial Recognition

Presented every year to a deceased member of NYSARC to honor the memory and pay tribute to the highly revered former members who got us where we are today. Honorees have their names placed on a memorial plaque at our state office in Delmar.

NYSARC, Inc. Thomas A. Maul Direct Support Professional Excellence Award

Without competent and caring direct support staff, quality outcomes for people with disabilities would be limited, and achieving independence would be difficult. NYSARC recognizes a direct support professional who has demonstrated exemplary performance and commitment to improving the quality of life for people with developmental disabilities. The award includes a $2,500 prize.

NYSARC, INc. Employer Recognition

Each year NYSARC, Inc. Chapters are encouraged to recognize an individual, corporation or business in New York State that has demonstrated outstanding support in providing job opportunities for people who have intellectual and other developmental disabilities. The NYSARC, Inc. Scholarship and Awards Committee selects a recipient from each of the four NYSARC, Inc. regions for the Employer of the Year Award based on information provided by the nominating Chapter.

Even though only one nominee from each region is chosen to receive the top honor, NYSARC, Inc. recognizes all the nominees who have provided employment opportunities. We applaud these employers for leading the way in ensuring equal employment opportunities and enriching the lives of people with intellectual and other developmental disabilities through gainful employment.

Media Awards

The NYSARC, Inc. Media Awards recognize a significant contribution and on-going commitment through documented journalism toward furthering the public's awareness of intellectual and other developmental disabilities.

Quill Awards

The NYSARC, Inc. Quill Award recognizes outstanding newsletters produced by NYSARC, Inc. Chapters.
