 NYSARC, through its local chapters, offer a variety of volunteer opportunities.
Many important jobs are performed by people in the community who bring with them needed skills and the desire to make a difference in the lives of children and adults who have a developmental disability.
Depending on the need of the local chapter, volunteers bring expertise that staff may not have and extra hands that everyone needs. But the greatest value that a volunteer brings to the organization to which he or she has chosen to give time is enthusiasm.
Volunteer opportunities range from being involved in a special event for a few hours to spending time each week in a program to serving on the local Board of Directors.
