Steven St. John is a valued employee. Through the help of Alternatives Vocational Services (AVS), the job-training employment division of the Madison Cortland Chapter, NYSARC, Inc., Steven has worked for over a year at North Broad Street School in Oneida, New York as a food service helper. “It has been a pleasure working with Steven and the Oneida City School District. Steven prepares single servings of dessert and assists younger children with their trays. He also washes the trays, pots and pans” says Marcy Barrie, employment specialist. Steven enjoys his work. “I like doing work, doing dishes, cleaning and I love helping the kids get their trays” says Steven. “I know we won’t be left alone, we will always have support from AVS,” Simmons adds, “I would recommend AVS to any other employer.” |
